Contact Lenses vs. Glasses, What is Best for You?

Are you trying to figure out what is best for you – contact lenses or glasses? Here, in this article we will find which one is best for you. Nowadays, contact lenses are preferred over glasses.

This is on account of a number of reasons. Contacts are  convenient and look more beautiful than spectacles or  glasses. The user is able to see naturally, as if vision was normal.  The size of the object that is seen is represented correctly. However,  glasses distort the size and the form of the object.

Moreover, the frame of the spectacles limits the peripheral vision of the user. Not so in the case of contacts. The lenses move with the eyes. Contact lenses do not freeze in the winter. Also, they do not get wet even in rain or snow. The lenses do not mist over in damp weather.

In case you need different powers for both the eyes the contact lenses can help you. The contact lenses could be made in such a way that both the eyes work in coordination. Additionally, lenses also help people to avoid the physical and psychological trauma associated with  glasses. Contact lenses are suitable in case you want to play sports. Playing active sports with a pair of glasses can be dangerous as injuries can hurt the eyes.

Besides this, there are certain specific cases when contact lenses are the best option. In case of cataract operations, the corneas need special protection. In cases of very high short sightedness, contacts are a much better option than thick glasses.

Contacts are also effective when the difference between the visual acuity of the two eyes is very high. In such a case, glasses are not so effective and contacts can work miracles!

If you go for contact lenses for your eyes, you have to keep in mind a few things. You need to look after your contact lenses very well and follow the prescribed cleaning procedure. Proper cleaning ensures not only that the contact lenses have a long life, but also that your eyes are comfortable while wearing them.
