The fashion conscious generation is adopting several new things everyday, including color contact lenses. Color contact lenses help you change your eye color according to your mood and dressing. Opaque color tints, visibility tints, light-filtering tints, and enhancement tints are the four types of colored lenses available. Most of them are just meant to enhance the looks and not provide any visual correction. However, there are some available for people with astigmatism and bifocal corrections.

There are a variety of colors of opaque color tints, like gray, blue, violet, and hazel that give your eyes a colorful look and a dramatic change. Visibility tints are normally light green or blue, and they do not affect the eye color because the light-colored tints are added to the lenses. The third type of colored contact lenses- light-filtering tints, are generally made for sports purposes. As these lenses enhance certain colors like optic yellow or green in tennis, softballs and golf balls, their role is to make the surrounding color dull and enhance the color of the target ball only.

The people who are interested in giving a new look to their eyes should be a little cautious, because there are some drawbacks of colored lenses. The colored portion of your lenses might slide over your pupils, especially when you blink. Because, the size of the contact lenses is not fit for your pupils.

There is also a possibility of it affecting your vision because the size of your eye is constantly changing with the accommodation of different lighting. Never disregard any discomfort as a passing phase, as it might cause a problem with the lenses. It will be best if you contact your eye care practitioner, if you are facing a constant problem with your eyes.

As the normal contact lenses, there are also available colored contact lenses from different manufactures with some discount. They cost you less and give you the same benefits that others do.
