God has gifted you vision and you all want it to be a good one in order to see number of things around you clearly and accurately. But, what to do if your eyesight becomes weak causing pressure on the eyes which in turn result in painful eye. Earlier, people used to overcome this condition by wearing spectacles but with the number of advantages associated with the contact lenses, they have become the ultimate choice of many. However, contact lenses demand some sort of maintenance for their proper use and for avoiding any ill effects caused by them. Some of the ways to maintain your contact lenses are:

A) Always keep your lenses in the container or a case when not in use as a dirty atmosphere and chemical fumes would contaminate your lenses.

B) Maintaining proper hygiene of your lenses is very essential as contact lenses are put over your eye.

C) Always have a habit of washing your hands before removing or applying the lenses.

D) You must clean or sterilize your lenses daily with a prescribed cleaning solution to keep your lenses in a healthy condition.

E) Tap water should not be used for cleaning or sterilizing the lenses as it would damage them.

F) Always have a habit of changing the storage fluid daily. If left unclean, it may damage your lenses or simply your eyes.

G) Get your lenses checked if they don't settle on your eyes.

H) If your lens wear causes conditions like redness, pain, heaviness, and watering then remove your lenses and consult the doctor.

I) Depending upon the life time period of a particular lens, you should change it accordingly.

J) Don't swim while wearing the lenses as it would harm your lenses as well as your precious eyes.

K) Don't mix makeup with your lenses as it would cause damage to the lenses. So, always apply lenses before makeup.

These are some of the useful ways or points by which you can properly maintain your contact lenses as proper care of contact lenses would result in healthy eyes.
