It is that magical time of the year when Halloween is just around the corner. It is time to get dressed up in all sorts of scary costumes and go to Halloween parties.

It is also the time of the year when you can wear all sorts of colored contact lenses to give your costume that realistic effect. A pair of contacts with a bloodshot red look will match your vampire outfit very well. A white contact lens will definitely give you a ghostly aura.

There are so many different choices and shades from which you can choose. The contact lenses are available either with vision correction or without – also known as the plano form.

Halloween lenses are of different types. You can select from soft or hard lenses, gas permeable (GP) or rigid gas permeable lenses (RGP) and a host of other types. RGP or GP contact lenses with vision correction can be expensive though, and may set you back by as much as $400. Soft or RGP lenses are very comfortable to wear. These are the most suitable type of lens for your eyes.

You have to be careful before wearing colored contact lenses. If you are not a regular user of contact lenses, it is always advisable to get your eyes checked by an optometrist to make sure that contact lenses will not hurt your eyes or cause blurry vision.

Wash and dry your hands very well before you take your contact off or put them back on again. This will prevent any sort of eye infection. Try on your contacts before the party starts to make sure that you are comfortable with them. If you are wearing hard contact lenses, then you should put in a recommended eye solution after you have worn your lens, to keep your eyes moist.
